Guns and Hoses Ball Hockey Tourney: The Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB) is a registered charity with over 65 chapters across Canada and is the largest membership based organization of the blind. CCB encourages the sighted community to become members to assist in its mission to address the issues of blindness and visual impairment which affect many families in Canada and offers programs and activities encouraging participation in education, sports and recreation and employment. Guns and Hoses Ball Hockey Classic is the first annual three-on-three ball hockey tournament benefitting CCB, the Sens Foundation, the Ottawa 67?s Foundation and the Ottawa Police and Fire Services? benevolent funds. Volunteer positions include on-site greeters to welcome visitors, the handing out of information and direction of people as needed, the collecting of donations and assisting at the registration desk. All volunteers will be required to: attend a training session prior to the tournament, be 15 years of age or older, be on their feet for the majority of their shift (average 4-5 hours per day). Take a walk for a better life and a brighter future: Parkinson Society Ottawa, a regional partner of Parkinson Society Canada, is a registered Canadian charity and a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with Parkinson?s and their families in Eastern Ontario. They?re looking for enthusiastic volunteers for their 17th annual Parkinson SuperWalk on Saturday September 8th. Volunteers are needed for the following positions: ? Registration Assistants (experience with customer service and handling cash) ? Event Setup and Logistics ? Route Marshals ? Water Station Assistants ? Parkinson Society Superwalk

With summer coming to an end, Winterlude is just around the corner: The National Capital Commission (NCC)?ensures that Canada?s Capital Region is a source of national pride and significance. The NCC?s Volunteer Centre is responsible for recruiting volunteers for NCC activities and programs, is seeking individuals interested in joining their Winterlude 2013 Coordination Team. Winterlude 2013 will run from February 1-18, 2013. Does your schedule permit you to be available before, during and after that date? Are you an active person who loves winter and is looking for a challenge? Are you experienced in volunteer scheduling, confirmation calls, on-site supervision and coordination of volunteers? Attention Zombies, Grim Reapers, Ghouls and Goblins! The Cumberland Heritage Village Museum is hosting its first Haunted Historic Village program. Quick! They must gather hordes of fearless volunteers to portray these characters and more to animate the Village! Are you brave enough? Because the program promises to be spooky, creepy and scary! Here is your opportunity to dress-up and perform in a frighteningly gruesome costume and make-up. The Haunted Historic Village is raising the living dead on Friday and Saturday evenings during the last three weekends in October the 12-13, 19-20, 26-27. Join the living dead and unearth the secret information to play in the Haunted Historic Village program. Interested?
