LONDON Sept 21 (Reuters) - Britain's top share index was
higher in early deals on Friday, rallying in tandem with modest
gains on Wall Street and in Asia, though trading could be
volatile ahead of quadruple-witching stock futures and options
expiries, due around 0915 GMT.
At 0707 GMT, the FTSE 100 index was up 30.56 points,
or 0.5 percent, at 5,885.20, having shed 0.6 percent on
Thursday.
Miners, up 1.1 percent, led the bounce back as
copper rallied from a drop in the prior session, spurred
by hopes for major economies to continue stimulus moves that
could boost global demand for metals.
Mexican silver miner Fresnillo was a top blue chip
performer, up 2.0 percent, as Deutsche Bank raised its target
price to 1,780 pence from 1,580 pence.
