?The 17 Day Diet helps you eliminate the two biggest obstacles in weight loss ? plateau and boredom ? and lose weight fast.?
The 17 Day Diet Essentials is a weight loss guide not unlike many other weight loss guides.?Basically, Dr. Mike Moreno tells you what we already know it takes to lose weight: diet and exercise.?I think what may be appealing to most readers is that the title promises results in 17 days. Everyone wants to lose weight quick, fast, and in a hurry.
As far as the diet goes, you can eat unlimited protein and many vegetables. He says to cut?carbs and?to not overindulge on fruit and fats.
DUH.?If you?ve been trying to lose weight, that is almost always the common dieting advice you?ll get. He?s not telling us anything new about that.
Now, if you?d like some sample menus, he does supplement with those, but in my opinion, they?re rather dull. However, there are some good recipes in the back of the book that are decent.
As far as exercise, Dr. Moreno recommends 17 minutes of exercise per day. You can go to to the book?s website and order the 17 Day Workout that goes with the book or get out and walk around your neighborhood for 17 minutes.
I tried and tested the diet, but It?s gonna take a lot more than 17 days of dieting with 17 minutes of exercising to see results. I only lost 4lbs and I did exactly what the book said to do. It might be tangible in 17 days to lose the 10-12lbs he says are typical results if you spend more time exercising.
I do like the fact that Dr. Moreno offers tips and tools for sticking to the program and safely bending the rules when things like work, schedule changes, parties, and holidays get in the way. And he also includes a?Q&A portion where he answers common questions about?following his plan.
All in all, I?d say The 17 Day Diet is a good start for people just starting out on their weight loss journey. For someone who is more familiar with the process, I?d skip it.
You can order the book directly from the book?s site, local retailors, or online through sites like Amazon.com in either hardback or eBook versions.
